About the App
What does ShipCalc do?
ShipCalc is a Shopify app that adds a shipping rate calculator to your Product Pages, Cart Pages, and compatible Cart Drawers. Shoppers enter their postcode and see available delivery options before they reach checkout.
Does ShipCalc replace my Shopify shipping rates?
No. ShipCalc reads the shipping rates you already have set up in Shopify. You do not need to maintain a second rate table inside the app.
Which stores is ShipCalc for?
Shopify merchants who want shoppers to see delivery costs before checkout, want a Product Page or Cart Page calculator, and prefer to keep their shipping configuration in Shopify.
Installation and Setup
How do I install ShipCalc?
Install ShipCalc from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, open the app from your Shopify admin and follow the onboarding to add the storefront blocks.
Do I need to edit theme code?
No custom theme code is needed. You add the ShipCalc app block (or app embed) in the Shopify Theme Editor and save the theme.
Where can the calculator appear?
On Product Pages, on the Cart Page, and inside compatible Cart Drawers. You choose which placements to enable from the Theme Editor.
Will it work in Cart Drawers?
ShipCalc supports compatible Cart Drawers. Some themes may need a custom drawer selector because every theme structures the drawer differently. We are happy to help configure this.
Customisation
Can I change how the widget looks?
Yes. You can adjust colours, layout, typography, spacing, button text, and messages from the ShipCalc admin. There is a card layout, a minimal layout, and a CSS editor for advanced styling.
Can I edit the wording?
Yes. You can change the title, helper text, postcode label, button label, no-rates message, error message, and other text.
Can I make it match my theme typography?
Yes. You can choose to inherit your theme typography and basic control styles, or override them with custom CSS.
Rates and Shoppers
Does it show estimated delivery dates?
ShipCalc shows delivery details when Shopify returns them. Some delivery date estimates are only available at checkout, so they may not always appear before checkout.
What countries does it support?
Any country you have shipping rates configured for in Shopify. You can choose a default country and optionally show a country selector to shoppers.
What happens when there are no rates available?
ShipCalc shows a friendly no-rates message. You can edit the wording from the app admin.
Analytics and Marketing
What analytics does ShipCalc provide?
You can see total quote requests, recent activity, where the quote came from (Product Page, Cart Page, or Cart Drawer), popular postcode and country combinations, methods shown, and any errors.
Does ShipCalc send marketing events?
Yes, when enabled. ShipCalc can send a Calculate Shipping event to Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Meta Pixel if those scripts are already installed on your storefront. ShipCalc does not install tracking scripts for you.
What customer details are sent to marketing scripts?
Marketing events do not send customer email, customer name, full address, or cart contents. The event includes things like source of the widget, country, and whether a postcode was entered.
Pricing
How much does ShipCalc cost?
ShipCalc costs $9.99 USD per month, or $99.90 USD per year (about 17% off the monthly price). All features are included in the standard plan.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every install starts with a 7-day free trial.
How do I cancel?
You can uninstall ShipCalc from the Apps section of your Shopify admin at any time. Billing is handled by Shopify.
